Help me give my students items like cactus theme decor, light covers, table cloths, and snacks needed to transform our classroom into the setting of the student favorite novel, "Holes".

My Project

Classroom transformation days are definitely the best days of the year! On these days, our classroom is transformed into an immersive learning experience, centered around a specific theme. This year, I am super excited for "Holes" transformation day, centered around the student favorite novel by Louis Sachar!

On this day, students will practice previously introduced concepts.

Our classroom will look like the desert setting from the novel and students will be working their way through reading tasks related to the plot elements!

The items I am requesting, such as the table covers, inflatable cacti, desert backdrop, and blue sky light covers will help to create a special ambiance in which students will be motivated and excited to do their best work, because our classroom will be transformed into the setting of the novel "Holes!" Additional items such as candy shoes (from character "Sweet Feet" Clyde Livingston) and red lip lollipops (to represent the character "Kissin' Kate" Barlow) will be used to inspire students to immerse themselves in the plot of the story as they work collaboratively to complete tasks and challenges related to our learning benchmarks.

Student engagement is imperative for learning to stick. Does every day need to involve decorations, costumes, and props? Certainly not. However, the days that do make coming to school fun, and set the tone for a learning environment where students WANT to be. Thank for for helping turn my classroom into a scene from the novel "Holes"!
