This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I've been a 2nd grade teacher in a low income area for 18 yrs. All my students are wonderful and I enjoy teaching them. Sometimes the daily struggles beyond my reach can create a distraction or a lack of attention in some of my students. In order to assist my kids with refocusing or helping with their anxiety, stress, and/or distractions, I'd like to provide them with a tool to help them become better learners.

I'm hopeful you can help me to purchase bouncy bands.

These bands are placed around the front legs of their chairs so students may swing or stretch with their feet as they feel the need to move around or just relax. These inexpensive contraptions have been proven effective in refocusing students who otherwise have difficulty doing so.

My Project

I'm always looking for ways to reach my students via reflection in my teaching delivery, a variety of approaches to reach different learning modes, a flexible classroom set up, and why not? We are allowing students to have a way to address their anxieties or distractions through helpful tools, such as bounce bands. The donations I'm asking for will help me purchase bounce bands that will assist my students to focus. When feeling their attention wander they can swing their feet on these bands and relax. I feel this can help to improve their learning potential. The bands are approximately $14 each. That small amount per student may make the difference between learning or missing out on important lessons. Please help me support my students' needs and donate to my cause.
