My Project

In California, third graders take the SBAC standardized test in the spring. The test is four days long and includes math, reading & writing. This is their first time taking this sort of computer-based standardized test and it can be stressful for some students.

Students deserve the tools they need to help them focus and stay calm during the testing experience.

Tools like playdough, fidgets, gum, and calm strips are meant to help students regulate their emotions and stay focused on their assignments.

My students have fidgets in the classroom that they use throughout the day and I see daily how it helps them focus. We don't have enough, however, for everyone to have the tools they need at the same time. Thank you for helping to fund this project. My students will be so grateful to have these tools as they navigate the SBAC assessment!
