Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, students face challenges that extend beyond academics. Whether it’s forgetting essential items, navigating financial hardships, or feeling embarrassed about an unmet need, these barriers can distract them from their learning. The Classroom Care Cart in our Family Resource Center is a solution that provides discreet access to necessities like tampons, pads, deodorant, toothbrushes, and socks, ensuring that no student is left feeling unprepared or unsupported.

When students have access to essential items, they can focus on their education instead of worrying about personal discomfort or stigma.

By removing these small but significant barriers, the Care Cart helps them stay engaged in the classroom and builds their confidence to fully participate in their education.

The goal of the Classroom Care Cart is to create a safe and supportive environment in the FRC where every student feels valued. By offering basic care items, we aim to meet students’ immediate needs, foster their sense of belonging, and enhance their overall well-being.

Our students are resilient, diverse, and full of potential. They bring unique perspectives and experiences to our classrooms, enriching our school community. Despite the challenges they may face, they demonstrate incredible determination and a desire to succeed. The Classroom Care Cart in the FRC is just one way to show them that we care about their success both in and outside of school.
