My Students

My goal is to create an environment where all students can feel safe and thrive!

Our school is a Title I school, identified as a School in Need of Improvement (SINI), with approximately 85% of our students eligible for free lunch. I teach 8th grade Social Studies to over 160 students. My students range from gifted and talented to special education students.

My Project

By having a printer in my classroom, I will be able to utilize it in order to print primary and secondary sources that are relevant to the 8th grade Social Studies curriculum, as a way to engage and help my students understand the material better. Since many students have different reading levels I must print a variety of texts according to the students' ability.

It will allow my students to read and analyze a variety of texts, political cartoons, maps and timelines.

It will change my students' lives for the better because it will enrich their educational experience in my classroom and allow me to be the best teacher for my students that I can be.
