My Students

"When are we going back to the computer lab?" That's the first question my students always ask when we have our class meetings. My students need access to a classroom computer in order to be able to research and delve into our history lessons.

I currently teach close to 150 junior high students.

These students come from diverse backgrounds and many of them do not have access to the technology resources necessary for them to be able to get the best education possible. Most of my students are considered high need. Access to technology is currently limited for them. Most have to wait their turn at the public library if they wish to have Internet access.

My Project

The HP laptop would be a wonderful addition to my classroom. I currently allow some of my students to use my school laptop and my personal laptop on occasion. The HP laptop would allow me to create more interactive lessons for my students. They could truly delve into the topics we are discussing in our lessons. It would give the students the opportunity to research their questions and allow a more inquiry based method of learning. The possibilities are limitless. It would truly allow history to come alive at their fingertips!

The world has become almost completely reliant on technology.

Without access to it, students can not gain the skills necessary to become effective citizens. Not only will this HP laptop improve their knowledge or history, but it will help them improve their knowledge base in general.
