Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Koreatown is a community with predominantly Latino students. Students at our school have a deep community bond with other students, staff, administration, and teachers. Since the school is K-12, students create a strong bond with one another from the first day of school, and this bond continues until their graduation. Students always support one another and through arguments become stronger.

My students are dedicated and hardworking.

They take care of each other emotionally and physically and also care for the younger students at the school.

My Project

As my students are slowly transitioning back to in-school learning, I want to become prepared for their learning. These models will help students understand more how volcanoes work and earthquakes are created.

Students will become very excited to learn when they get to see all of the grade-level science kits.

It has been a very difficult year for everyone, I want to make sure I have exciting and engaging lessons ready for my students. The tectonic, volcano, and earth model will make it easier for my students to see science in real life rather than just on posters!

Students will be able to learn about the gold rush and then be able to be part of a simulation by looking for gold. After students are done learning about volcano eruptions, they will be able to create their own and develop a greater understanding.
