My Project

These books will be great for our 8th Grade Book Clubs! I have chosen books which include a variety of different Historical Fiction time periods in the United States and Internationally.

Being that we have such a diverse group of students, I wanted to choose books that all students could share a connection with.

Students are given a chance to understand, analyze, apply and share insights with one another. This not only encourages dialogue between students, but it also allows students to make similar connections, therefore strengthening classroom community!

What I also value and love about book clubs, is allowing students to pick titles that they feel most excited about. Allowing students to pick books of their interest has turned students who hate reading, into students who opened themselves up to a whole new world and have a changed perspective on reading!

Further, I have carefully selected these books from a range of reading levels to ensure struggling readers' needs are met, as well as readers who are exceeding grade levels! There truly is something for everyone!
