Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students enrolled in this middle school are bright, eager, and curious scholars with a desire for learning. Most of these students will be first-generation college students; they know and understand that education is the key to success.

The books in the library should be in decent condition, contain accurate information, and be relevant and engaging.

Though these students live in a poverty-stricken community, their lives are filled with a wealth of resiliency, persistence, and determination. These students deserve to have a library that is a safe, inviting, comfortable space where they can come to read, work independently, or in groups.

My Project

Help give my students books that will transport them on many adventures. This project includes a combination of historical fiction, science fiction, and spooky stories that are sure to captivate students and make them want to read more. Having access to books that students can read for pleasure is crucial in cultivating lifelong readers and critical thinkers.

My students need access to highly engaging books that will help develop their literacy skills and foster a genuine appreciation and love for independent reading.

Historical fiction, science fiction, and spooky genres will dazzle students as they embark on different and unique reading adventures with a wide array of characters. Books like "How High the Moon" and "How I Became a Spy" will impart historical knowledge and take students on suspenseful and heartfelt journeys back in time. On the other hand, books such as "The Total Eclipse of Nestor Cuevas" and "The Starspun Web" will expose students to worlds filled with science and the infinite possibilities of the imagination. Of course, these adventures could not be complete without a little bit of mystery from eerie stories such as "Ghost and Bone" and "Small Spaces."

The books are sure to bring joy into the library!
