My Project

I would like to read the novel Refugee with my students because the stories of the young children in the novel have a connection to the community where my students live.

We will be reading the novel together and analyze the literary elements of the stories in order to improve our own writing.

We will also discuss the author’s purpose, use of figurative language, real-life survival stories, and problem-solution dilemmas.

I also am requesting dictionaries and thesaurus books to assist my students with choosing stronger words in their discussions and writing. I prefer the actual reference books over the computers to keep the students focused during the lessons.
