This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 7th graders have demonstrated great interest in historical fiction. These novel sets will strengthen their knowledge about historic events, while at the same time, they will be immersed into the lives of fictional characters.

Our goals for this project will be to enjoy these novel sets as a class during our read aloud time, having class discussions, debates, and answering higher-level thinking questions related to the novels' topics.

This will increase my students content knowledge in general, along with helping them achieve grade level goals.

Most of my students home environment lack the exposure to a variety of texts since we live in a community where our population is mostly made up of low-income, hard-working families. Please help us reach our goal!
