My Project

Historical Fiction is an engaging way for students to connect with the past and develop perspective on the present. Each year, I teach a unit on Historical Fiction, with students reading a variety of books and conducting research on different historical eras. This is a great way for them to develop critical literacy skills, and many of them go on to become passionate experts on different eras or authors! This work happens best when students do it collaboratively, in "research groups" and "book clubs," and our library needs a refresh to make this happen.

Please help me collect enough high-interest, diverse books to represent a variety of voices and experiences as I hook my budding historians and readers!
