Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Student's at our school love to learn! They enjoy reading, but sometimes struggle to read on grade level. They are into sports and technology. We are a one to one school, so children are able to learn electronically. They enjoy researching and exploring apps.

Our school has a wonderful school-wide community.

We are like a family and everyone watches out for each other. It is not uncommon to see an older student helping a kindergartner tie their shoe in the hallway.

My Project

We are getting ready to kick off our informational text unit of study in a few short weeks. Our students desperately need informational texts that are engaging. I am hoping to get books that align to our social studies and science standards. My goal is that when students are reading, they are also learning about the topics that we need to cover in other parts of our day. During this unit, students will be completing weather research projects during our informational text study. I've requested a variety of weather books so that students will be able to research through multiple sources.
