My Students

My students are simply the best! The one thing that makes our classroom so special is our diversity! We love to celebrate our differences. Every child comes to school each day with different needs, but we all love to learn together. I am so lucky to get to spend my days teaching, learning and laughing with this class! I wish that you could spend a day in our class because I know you would never want to leave. Please consider helping us out. No donation is too small! Thank you!

My Project

This Sensory Path is designed to change the student’s body position as he/she completes the course. Students focus on academic visuals, while moving their body in a specific order. As students move through the path, the body movements slow down or speed up, but work towards giving the proper sensory input without overstimulating the student. This sensory path is designed by using research-based sensory integration therapy techniques to decrease sensory seeking behaviors and increase cognition. The Sensory Path has vibrant colors, and bold rich graphics to brighten the sensory area while engaging the student’s interest. This sensory path will be a great place to take students who need a brain break. By taking children to use the Sensory Path, they will complete a series of movements as they navigate through the path that is designed to release the blocked paths and allow the body and brain to refocus. The Sensory Path will be located on a hallway for all students to participate and enjoy.
