Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a classroom of twenty-five enthusiastic, brave, and curious Kindergarteners in a Title I area. They enter Kindergarten every day ready to learn, discover and explore in spite of the economic challenges they may face. My students all have different learning styles and needs.

Some of my students are learning how to read, write and count while some are learning how to zip up their jackets, express their emotions, and self regulate.

They are exploring and discovering new skills and abilities everyday and it's just a joy to guide and support them on their learning journey. They love hands –on, active and engaging activities that encourages them to problem solve and work as a community.

My Project

This year is different from any other year I have taught. In a normal Kindergarten classroom we teach children to share materials. Due to the pandemic students can no long share materials with one another.

I would love to provide my students with their own individual pencil pouch with the supplies they need to learn.

Each student will receive their own case with pencils, crayons, pencil grips, erasers and markers. My students will also be able to take the supplies home during remote learning. I am excited to be able to give my students these new resources.
