This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a great bundle of joy to teach everyday. My special education class students work very hard to achieve their goals. Each day all of my scholars enter the classroom with the same goal; to obtain the knowledge that will lead them to ... college. As a special education teacher, I am expected to deliver excellent instruction in all content areas as well as the General Education teacher and having these requisite tools to teach my scholars will be an advantage to close some of the gap within their deficits. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.

My Project

The dry erase markers will assist to build students' confidence by giving them a way to test and confirm their reasoning during daily math activities. The Visualize Math Write & Wipe Boards will help develops skills in operations and algebraic thinking, base 10 and modeling with mathematics. These materials will allow not only serve as an opportunity to learn a new concept but make learning math interesting and enjoyable; as most of my students' have very short attention span, learning and emotional disabilities and these manipulatives will be an awesome addition to other activities in place to keep their attention focus on the learning task. In addition, most students hold a negative attitude towards math, but with the help of these materials, I am hoping to change the minds of the students in my classes by crushing this negativity and proving that math can be FUN! The staplers and organizer will assist me, the teacher, keep focus and ready to teach; keep track of students’ assignments, file parent letters, organize daily and weekly lessons, and more. Your generous donation will help create authentic learning opportunities that allow my scholars to apply what they know to fun and engaging activities.
