My Students

My students are mostly Arabic and from many different Arabic countries around the world, such as, Egypt, Palestine, Jorden and Syria. They are so enthusiastic about school in first grade and are eager to learn how to read. Some come into school with not one word of English. This project is to support my amazing students who have been walking into my classrrom the past 18 years. These are very special children from all around the world.I teach at a low income school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school, because they want to learn all they can, so they can be successful one day. I know they will be!

Through this project, I am asking for stools and a beanbag chairs.

These items will help my students feel comfortable as they explore the fundamentals of the math and language arts curriculum.

My Project

Children learn best in a comfortable, fun and safe environment. In order to make my classroom more appealing and inviting, I would like to have my children feel comfortable when exploring educational games, listening to stories on the carpet and participating in center based activities! The bean bag chairs and stools will allow them to do so. the children have the opportunity to play fun and educational games such as raz kids, starfall and wonders based phonemic awareness games and on our three computers in the back of our room. However, the seats the children have to sit on are outdated and uncomfortable. By providing comfortable seating, the children will look forward to expanding their knowledge through technology.
