Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Give us a fair chance! Let our fingers do the surfing and our brains do the hiking up to higher levels of learning!

My classroom is comprised of twenty-four enthusiastic learners.

Most of them are of Hispanic descent. Many of them come from a low-income family where English is in most of the cases not the primary language. Because of this, they lack basic academic vocabulary and have limited background knowledge in comparison with a majority of Native English Speakers.

My Project

Later this year, my students and I will be going on a field trip to the Griffith Park. They will be exposed to some plants and animals that they do not know about. With the use of the Kindle's fast web browser, we will surely be able to download and read science magazines and find all of the interesting facts, such as habitats, predators, and life cycles with just one touch. The students and I will use the camera to take pictures of their animal research projects and presentations. Awards assemblies are also a big celebration and pictures of those occasions are a must have! I am looking forward to creating and providing my students with as many visuals and vocabulary knowledge as possible with your help.
