This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students a calming corner for relaxation and mental health awareness. High school can be a stressful time for students so having a warming and welcoming learning environment can help them thrive. I want to instill in my students the importance of having a designated area for them to study and relax. Students can learn how having a healthy learning environment will help them better build their study habits and become more aware of their mental health.

A bean bag may seem insignificant to most people however for your average high school student it can mean a big difference as it will help them de-stress and feel more welcomed.

High school can be a stressful time for most students, having an environment in which they can feel safe and secure will help them thrive and feel included. I want to provide a safe space in my classroom where students can see that I not only care about learning but their mental health as well.
