Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am looking to have help buying high interest graphic novels and early chapter books to challenge my first grade readers who are ready for a higher reading level and extended vocabulary development. I have a passion for reading that I always pass along to my classes and my class this year is rising to the occasion and devouring books! The books that I am requesting in this project will be used with not only the class I am teaching now, but with many classes to come. I have asked for multiple copies of each book so that we can read in a group and have a book club and so that students can read in groups with their classmates when they have independent reading time. As I tell my students - when we read more, we learn more words to help us be proficient readers, speakers and writers! These engaging books will capture my students attention and fuel their love for reading! Thank you for considering our project for a donation.
