My Students

As 4th graders, my students are innately curious, eager, and dedicated to their learning and friendships. They each come with their own individual abilities and challenges which only strengthens our sense of community here in our school.

In our room we foster individuality and acceptance, while celebrating the fact that our scholars are empathetic and compassionate.

My Project

On March 13 the city shutdown, leaving students confused, sad and uneasy. Scholars left school that day, not realizing they would not be returning. I work in Corona Queens, where many families have been devastated by the Coronavirus outbreak. My scholars look to reading as an escape from reality as well as an opportunity to make connections with peers. When students have access to high interest books, they build stamina and fluency which can carry over across curricula. Please help me to replenish our classroom library, so my scholars can enjoy reading whether in person or remotely.
