My Students

Our students love to learn new things! Our school is for students with special needs who, because of severe emotional and behavioral issues, have not been able to learn successfully at their regular schools. They learn a little bit differently, and we are able to accommodate their differences and keep them in school and in class!

Our school provides a safe place where students can make mistakes, learn coping skills and master problem-solving strategies while continuing to be exposed to the district-wide academic curriculum.

Instead of being suspended or removed from the learning environment for extended parts of the day, our daily goal is to keep students in the learning environment.

My Project

We are going to put together some bags of hygiene products as a giveaway as part of a hygiene unit. Unfortunately, many of our students do not have regular access to these kinds of products. For them, this is going to be a very positive experience.

We will take great care to see that no one feels singled out by receiving hygiene products - but, many of the students will really appreciate these products and will not be one bit embarrassed about receiving them!

Kids will be kids and teasing happens when it comes to bodily aromas and with lessons in hygiene and working together to create these kits will help them to be more understanding and compassionate about these normal bodily functions!
