My Students

For my students with intellectual disabilities and autism, it’s so important to have real life lessons. Our daily calendar time needs a revamp, including updating and individualizing how to use and understand a calendar. While some students require support with reading numbers, others are able to plan activities on a digital calendar.

My Project

Whether it be google calendar, or stickers to add to a planner for non-readers, our calendar time needs a revamp. We want to make our daily lessons more relevant to the busy lifestyles we lead. Students can start practicing by planning club events, marking birthdays, and adding class projects. In order for all my students of differing abilities to access this, we need certain supplies to streamline the lessons. Students can access a digital calendar on the iPad, while another small group can place stickers on important dates in a monthly planner. Tools will also used to transform the whiteboard into a large calendar for all to see and manipulate.
