This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Looking at pictures is a huge part of exposing our students to vocabulary. However as new curriculum is adopted every few years, our old fashion library of pictures that our curriculum had come with has now gone high tech and our computers do not come equipped with all the components.
My students consist of English Language Learners, Transitional Kindergarteners, Students with IEP's, English Only, Newcomers, and Students with Autism.
They are a group of high-energy, enthusiastic, and jovial kids. They love coming to school and going on educational journeys through our ever changing curriculum. As kinder kids they are sponges, ready to absorb everything you have in your educational arsenal.
My Project
Our new Math program comes with a huge technology component that include many DVDs filled with stories, exercises, and hands-on activities. We were fortunate enough to get laptops for our classrooms, however the laptops do not come with internal DVD drives. Now we are getting the new program in a few weeks and we will be unable to use the DVDs. With external DVD drives, we will be able to access all the components of our DVDs and our students will be able to use our laptops to enrich their lessons by going through many activities and exercises. Students who are struggling will be able to go through the many activities to be able to help clarify any concepts that they find confusing. Students who understood the concepts will be able to strengthen their knowledge and understanding.
With the donation of the external DVD drives, our students will be able to access all our new curriculum and help them to strengthen their knowledge of our ever growing hi-speed technology driven world.
They will be able to prepare in being able to use all sorts of technology and become properly prepared to take the online Smarter Balance Test when they enter Third grade.
