My Students

Did you have a class pet when you were in school? I remember one teacher that had a hamster. Class pets help teach students how to care for an animal.

My students love learning science.

Our hermit crabs will be more than a class pet. The hermit crabs will be animals of study. My students live in a low income area and attend a priority school. They do not always have the supplies that they need. Often, parents provide the basics, such as pencils. The school provides things like technology.

My Project

With the hermit crab habitats we will be able to go above and beyond the kind of learning that takes place with pencils and paper or technology. Students will be able to create habitats for the hermit crabs. They will be able to study their behavior. The students will learn to take notes in science, as well as care for a living creature.

Hands-on learning is exciting, as well as important.

Donations to this project will increase student learning in science and help build character as the students become responsible hermit crab owners.
