My Students

My 4th graders attend a collaborative, diverse, and creative public school in Brooklyn, NY. We teach our students to be intellectually curious learners, socially responsible citizens, and dynamic problem solvers.

My students have been through a LOT over these past two years, due to remote learning, and I want to provide them with an engaging classroom environment and opportunities for them to grow into conscientious, caring citizens of the world!

In order for my students to be as successful, motivated, engaged, and *safe* as possible, I want to create engaging, motivating, and challenging work spaces and projects!

My Project

These materials and supplies are needed to properly set-up and maintain a healthy habitat for our class pets, hermit crabs!

Students will learn about proper animal care and safety, and will demonstrate responsibility and care by being in charge of the crabs and their habitat in our classroom!

The habitat will also be a learning tool for us - students will conduct research using their science and math skills, complete research-based reports, and use the crabs as inspiration for creative writing pieces. As the crabs grow and flourish, so will my students!
