Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am teaching 4th-grade writing to about sixty-six English Language Learners. Though I have not had the pleasure to meet my students, I have come to learn that they are a group of spirited children who are eager to make great strides academically. This year I will be working to develop confident, tenacious, and well-prepared Fourth graders. Their academic growth as writers would be greatly increased by gaining access to fun and interactive activities they can use in their independent practice.

My Project

I'm a first-year teacher who is eager to provide the best writing instruction and support to this incoming class of fourth graders. These students have a thirst for knowledge and are excited to continue their quest for knowledge.

With this school year being my very first as a Teacher of Record, I find that I am lacking a comfortable meeting place and a variety of methods to differentiate learning when it comes to writing.

My students need a welcoming and vibrant place to gather and share their ideas. The Natural Accents Leaves Classroom Carpet, with its vibrant and welcoming colors and pattern, is my dream meeting space. My wish is to provide a safe and welcoming classroom that fosters exponential growth in the areas of intrapersonal and interpersonal communication. With this purchase, students will be able to enjoy a beautiful new gathering place to develop their writing and collaborative skills.

I chose the Reading and Writing Skills Folder set with my fourth graders in mind. These games and developmental tools would open up new pathways to my students and foster self-confidence and pride in their writing. My students need pressure-free activities that reinforce the reading and writing skills we cover in class. The format of these activities allows students to feel comfortable enough to learn from their mistakes and misunderstandings. Best of all, the activities are self-checking which means instant reinforcement! I've also chosen some additional activities for my fourth graders to keep their opportunities for independent practice full of a variety of options!

I've learned that choice and differentiation are cornerstone strategies to produce the most self-sufficient and confident life-long learners. It is my sincerest aspiration to teach my students that they are capable of becoming captivating writers and these resources would be of immense aid to that cause.
