Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The population of students that attend my school are mainly high poverty children. Their parents are predominantly low income, and hard working people. Some of my students live only with their mothers and siblings renting a room in a house. My students are enrolled in the Pre-K For All program at the school that I teach in. I have 18, 4-year-old students. I also have a teacher's assistant. My students are very eager to learn. They come in every day with a smile on their face ready to learn.

My Project

I decided to ask for donations for my class when I realized we were going back to school. I started to think of ways that I could separate my students in various centers around my classroom.

This is the way that I envisioned my classroom; during morning meeting, I could use the seating squares on the big classroom rug, to indicate where each student could sit safely separated.

The shapes activity mats would help the students stay seated where they can distance themselves while siting at the tables. The All About Me Mirrors will help in September when it's the beginning of school.
