My Project

My AP English Language students are eager to learn but often aren't exposed to sufficient nonfiction reading materials that both spark their interest and add to their understanding of the world. These books have been requested by students to add to our in-class library and book club options.

Factfulness helps students see beyond headlines and assumptions, Radium Girls connects to history and explore power dynamics, and Quiet helps my introverted students find their place.

Each book serves a particular purpose and population while working toward our overall goals for the course of being more informed citizens and critical consumers of information.
