My Project

I work as a school counselor in a Title 1 school, where many of our students face unique challenges and may not always have access to the resources they need for emotional and social development. This project focuses on bringing books that teach kindness, empathy, trauma recovery, and mental health to my students. These resources will be used in lessons, small groups, and one-on-one sessions to help students navigate their emotions and build resilience. With your support, I can provide students with the tools they need to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

These specific items will make a significant difference in their learning by offering relatable and age-appropriate stories that tackle important emotional topics.

By integrating these books into our counseling program, I aim to foster a greater understanding of emotional regulation, self-awareness, and empathy. My goal is to help students develop lifelong social-emotional skills that will support them not only in school but throughout their lives. The books will provide a safe space for students to process their emotions and learn coping strategies in an engaging, supportive environment.

What makes my students special is their resilience and unique perspectives, despite the challenges they face. They come from diverse backgrounds and often deal with situations beyond their years, which makes emotional growth even more critical. These books will empower them to feel seen and understood, helping them build stronger relationships and succeed both academically and socially.
