My Students

I am a Virginia Preschool Initiative Teacher for one of our larger cities in Virginia. The children in my classroom are considered "High Risk" because of various hardships. Our students are diverse in socio-economics, national origin, color, religion, physical abilities, and family dynamics.

My students offer a precious first opportunity in the public school system.

In most every situation this is their first experience in embracing differences and understanding respect for others outside of their immediate world.

The goal for this special early first year is to "fall in love with learning". My genuine mission is to help my friends learn to solve problems, guide them to choose kindness and foster respect for the new friends in their changing world.

My Project

My young students have an opportunity to experience an amazing world created around what kids love most... play and imagination. Please help my children access a new children's museum that provides creativity in a setting dedicated to our youngest learners. My goal is to help provide funding for my class of 18 students to experience 6 field trips to a new chilhood museum in our community. This extordinary museum will help my students fall in love with learning through "hands-on" centers that encourage children in the world they know best. Help my little friends to reach for the stars through play!
