My Project

My students are amazing and resilient! They endured so much at such a young age when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit. They have had to overcome unexpected gaps in their education like no other group has had to overcome before.

Imagine having to finish 1st grade online.

This was a vital year for them in learning to read, write, and spell, as well as learning how to sit still and focus. The years that followed have been infiltrated with masking, required quarantines, and undue stress over constantly-spreading illnesses that keep them from being able to attend school as regularly as they need to. Now they are in 4th grade, but they are still paying that price in focus problems and educational gaps.

The stress and anxiety this pandemic has caused these children to experience are still abundantly clear. I believe these items will greatly help my students to tackle some of their social-emotional struggles and focus issues with some flexible seating options that give them wiggle room and focus-friendly fidget options. Additionally, I believe they will help the students feel more comfortable, happy, and motivated to learn in the classroom environment.
