My Project

As a special educator, my assignment each year changes, and with that changes the grades and students I teach. This school year, I have the privilege to serve first and second-graders who have a love for learning. Each day, they come to school and work so hard learning new skills I teach them in both math and reading. However, I've noticed over the last two weeks that most of my students in second grade and all of my students in first grade cannot read. To see their little faces and hear some of them say, "I can't read" when they are asked to read a short sentence on the board, breaks my heart. In order to teach them to read, I need to start by teaching them phonics and core reading skills such as blending and sounding out words, along with fluency in reading. Please help me teach my students to read by using decodable leveled books that are interesting and fun!

All of these books will be able to meet the diverse level of readers I have in my classroom.

These books will have a positive impact on my students by further motivating them to read more and improve their confidence and reading levels.
