Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I wholeheartedly believe that children learn best through play and exploration. The materials and supplies that I am requesting will help to enhance that. Our manipulatives allow the students to learn through building, counting, matching, sorting, and best of all, through playing. The domino game will allow students to identify numbers in all forms and learn while playing with other students at centers. The CVC games will allow students to build upon their letter sound knowledge and start to blend that knowledge into reading words. Students love to practice their writing in the classroom so the the LCD writing boards allows them to do that in fun way.

Play is a developmentally appropriate and exciting way for kindergarten students to learn to read, do math, and work with others.

These centers will support social, emotional learning, academics, and basic skills that they will need to be successful in school. Being able to have autonomy and choice as they play and learn will help them to learn everything in a meaningful way that they will remember. With this autonomy we will need storage for students to be able to access the materials, so the caddies and the tubs are a must.

My students are amazing! They come from many diverse backgrounds, and they bring so many unique qualities to our classroom. We love hands-on learning, creating memories together, and having fun while we grow together.
