My Project

Imaginary play is an essential part of social, emotional, and cognitive development, particularly for students with autism for the Lunar New Year. Barbies and action figures encourage role-playing, which helps students develop important skills such as communication, empathy, and problem-solving. These toys will give them the opportunity to practice social interactions in a fun, low-pressure environment, helping them build social confidence and connect with their peers.

The goal of this project is to promote imaginative thinking and social skills through creative play.

By introducing Barbies and action figures, we aim to provide students with opportunities to explore various social scenarios, practice communication, and learn how to navigate relationships for the Lunar New Year. Additionally, these toys help foster self-expression and emotional understanding, which are crucial for building strong interpersonal skills.

My students are unique in their ability to approach the world with creativity, curiosity, and a distinct perspective. Each one has their own strengths and challenges, and the beauty of their development lies in their individual ways of engaging with others and the world around them. Through the use of Barbies and action figures, they will have the chance to engage in a playful and imaginative space that supports their personal growth and learning.
