Helping 3rd Graders Shine: Resources for a Successful Testing Experience

Help me give my students noise-canceling headphones, kick bands for desks, fire marshal-approved carpet, and desk dividers to help my 3rd-grade students stay focused, comfortable, and prepared for their first state assessments.

My Project

As a 3rd-grade general education teacher, I am committed to ensuring that all my students have the tools they need to succeed, particularly during state assessments. This year, my students will be taking their first-ever state assessments, and I want to ensure they are set up for success with the right resources. To help them focus and do their best, I am requesting a few key resources for our classroom:

- Noise-Canceling Headphones: Many of my students have difficulty concentrating during assessments due to background noise.

A set of noise-canceling headphones will help them block out distractions and stay focused during both state and classroom assessments.

- Kick Bands for Student Desks: Some of my students need to move their bodies while working to maintain focus. Kick bands attached to their desks will allow them to quietly and safely release extra energy while still staying engaged in their work.

- Fire Marshal Approved Carpet: Many of my students benefit from sitting on the floor near the front of the room during instruction, especially those who need extra support. A fire marshal approved carpet will allow for a comfortable and safe space for students to sit while participating in lessons.

- Desk Dividers for Testing: Desk dividers will provide a quiet and private space for each student during assessments, helping reduce anxiety and distractions. These dividers will help create an environment where each student can concentrate fully on the task at hand.

With these tools, my students will be able to concentrate better, feel more confident, and perform at their best during state assessments and daily activities. Your support would help ensure that all of my students have equal opportunities to succeed and show what they are capable of.
