My Project

My goals for this project are to better prepare daily things for my students. I plan on using some things for practical uses each and every day (such as batteries for timers), as well as, using other items to help motive students such as prizes and items for break boxes (needoh cubes). My goals of these items are to help me be a better teacher and to encourage my students to be the best they can be.

I work with the best students each day in our Life Skills program.

These students will benefit from having visual schedules that are laminated, to ensure longevity. Many students will benefit from the study carrel to help them focus during independent work times. This desk is also bigger than a regular student desk which will help hold their schedules, break boxes, and their next independent task. The vibrating plate will be an additional resource students can access with sensory needs in our sensory area. Finally, the thermometer is for students who are nonverbal and also like routine. Something simple, such as walking to the nurses office, can disrupt their day when it's out of routine.

My students are special because they are so caring. They care about each other and the teachers they work with. It is a pleasure to work with and teach these students because I learn as much if not more from them each day.
