Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being able to be around kindergarten students its exciting because you are with students that are young in age but have a big heart. Each student has different abilities and goals to achieve in the classroom. I have some students that are learning how to read, write and count in both English and Spanish. Others are learning their letters and sounds in order to meet their goals.

In the classroom we communicate with a positive attitude to share our ideas and build a safe environment.

We are part of a Title 1 school where most of our scholars get free or reduce lunch. My class is a bilingual setting where student get to know 2 different languages in order to be successful in their lifes.

All of my scholars love learning even though each one has a different learning style. There are different strategies incorporated in our learning such as group work ,alternative seating and learning options to make sure each of my students meet their goals and needs. I am so happy and bless to teach such an incredible group of hard working students.

My Project

The use of materials is almost a daily routine in my classroom, especially in reading and math . Using the materials help student learn in different ways such as having arts and crafts activities that will help them master the TEKS . The materials help students do fun activities that will allow them to be engaged in the lesson. What becomes a problem is the fact that the materials do not last long, especially the glue sticks and playdoh. When something runs out, students know that they must share their materials but some most of my scholars run out of materials. Even though they are great about doing this, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction form either myself or other students. By having extra materials students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help them have the necessary materials to learn but you will help them be successful in their learning.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to run out. Plus in this educational world the materials are essential to have in order to be successful.
