My Students

Everyday my students enter a safe, clean and friendly environment where they are able to flourish academically and be provided with government sponsored breakfast, lunch and snacks. Our school is a haven from a high crime neighborhood where lock downs and emergency sirens are common. Despite the outside environment, these students know that they are our nation's future and though very young, recognize their need for an outstanding education. Educating them for tomorrow's challenges needs to be addressed today.

My Project

Dinosaurs, tornadoes, elections and inventions are a few of the things that my students individually research on their school issued iPads.Individual work is the key here, and my students need headphones to do this activity.

In a quiet setting, students are independently researching using iPads and headphones as I am working with small groups.

The headphones allow uninterrupted work which leads to increased learning. I have found small group instruction to be a powerful technique to assist students with their understanding.

Although very young, my students recognize the need for an education. Educating them to meet tomorrow's challenges need to be addressed with today's technology. Headphones will help them use their iPads in a productive, educational way.
