Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 35 inquisitive fourth grade gifted students in my classroom. They are full of curiosity, energy, and love to learn.

My students come diverse backgrounds, but ultimately they all share a love learning about the world around them!

My goal is to keep that love for learning and inquisitive fire in them by providing them a classroom environment that promotes learning through hands-on experiments, real-world problem solving, and incorporating technology to create active life long learners. Ultimately, I want to prepare students for the real world and encourage individual learning and self growth.

My Project

Our district just announced that we will begin distance learning at the end of the month until at least October because of our current circumstances in our city. We completed our last school year from March-June virtually and after much thought I knew there were a few things that would facilitate teaching and assist students with distance learning.

The headphones will help the students cancel the noises going on at home and keep them engaged on the lesson.

Many of these families are working from home and the students have other siblings doing online learning as well. This will keep them focused on the lesson I will be teaching and any educational program I assign.

The laptop I requested has both a camera to communicate with my students and a touch screen. It will allow me to use my screen to deliver my math lessons more efficiently and review work with the students.
