My Project
This quarter, I started independent reading in my classroom. One of the challenging parts of getting students invested in reading is pairing them with a book they enjoy. An easy way to resolve this conflict is to have books in the classroom.
While my students have access to our school library which has a variety of options for them, many of my freshmen students do not have access to the public library.
This severely limits their novel options.
My students are voracious readers and flying through books. I want to provide them with new novels to keep up their interest in reading. Reading just 10 minutes a day greatly improves students vocabulary. I'm hoping these books help my students grow their vocabulary, world view, and empathy.
