My Project

Having a classroom store allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they can earn classroom currency to exchange in the classroom store. Currently my students are choosing to work hard in order to earn money to spend in the store. They really seem to work better when they have a goal or item that they are working to get. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in how they earn currency and things they get to choose to buy. They almost always make good choices about their behaviors and are more engaged, and get more work completed when the know that they are working to earn something.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of using their earned money.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional choice options to spend their hard earned money on. The items are greatly interesting to my particular group of students, they are items that they frequently ask for.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
