This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young leaders in a Title 1 school in Staten Island, New York. My students are eager to learn but often times lack materials to help them succeed. My classroom has 30 learners from diverse backgrounds and different educational needs. In our ICT classroom students are able to follow our schools mission and vision by learning through exploration and hands-on activities. We are in need of some classroom supplies to help our students further their learning in my classroom.

My Project

After working in a title 1 school for two years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher I have been able to interact and learn with many students during school and in our after school program. This year I was able to teach dance and technology to a wide variety of students. What I noticed is that our students needed to learn the skills they needed to be 21st century learners as well as how happy they were when they were able to express themselves through dance. I put in a proposal for a dance and technology program at my school and it was accepted!

This year I will be able to reach over 150 students in the areas of art and technology.

If you donate to this project you will be able to put content books in the hands of children who need them the most. You will be providing them and our classroom with resources to express themselves through the arts. This project will touch many children in need and would be greatly appreciated. You can know that you made a difference and help fund the first ever technology and dance program at our school! I will be able to use these books about dance to help incorporate literacy into the arts. We will use these books to begin our study into the visual and performing arts.
