My Project

I work as a speech therapist for students with disabilities in a public school that serves low income families. Many of the students live in shelters and apartments, lacking access to green spaces. I want to provide my students with the enriching and novel hands-on-experience of cultivating their own butterfly gardens. With a butterfly garden, my students will be able to learn and explore firsthand the life cycle of butterflies. My students will also benefit from creating a zen garden of succulents which provides a calming and relaxing environment. I would love to provide my students with a variety of butterfly themed art projects to explore their creativity and expand their knowledge of the butterfly life cycle. As a therapist, my goal is to create an atmosphere where both my students and plants can flourish.
