This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a lively and inquisitive bunch that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with in and out of the classroom. They have a wide variety of learning styles and levels.
All student in my classroom are wearing masks, washing their hands, and practicing social distancing while coping with this pandemic.
We are trying to help them maintain their love for learning without being stressed.
My Project
My students just started back to school, and I will need extra face masks for this because they are required to wear face masks in the classroom and on the buses.
While most students are doing a great job of wearing face masks, some face masks do not fit properly.
They are either too big or too small. Some students have complained that their face masks hurt their ears. Sometimes face masks get wet or dirty during the day and need to be replaced.
I would like to have extra face masks that I can give the students. When face masks are clean and fit properly, students are more comfortable and able to focus and learn.
We also need a non-contact infrared thermometer for the forehead that takes temperatures safely, quickly and easily with a large, easy-to-read backlit screen.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
