My Students

I have general and special education students. My students have a love for reading, but do not have enough resources to facilitate good reading habits. Many of my students are struggling with reading and the LeapFrog Tag readers will help strengthen their reading skills.

I teach general and special education students in a Title I school in Brooklyn, NY.

My students with disabilities benefit from visual and auditory aids. Many of my students are struggling with reading and the LeapFrog Tag Readers will encourage them to keep reading.

My Project

My students were born into an era where technology is all around them. It seems that every time you turn around, there are advancements and machinery making lives easier. So why not make learning how to read easier, too? I want to use technology to aid in my students’ learning. The LeapFrog hand held "reader", called the Tag, actually reads words that are on the pages of books. Students are then able to follow along as they point the wand over the words. I am requesting for LeapFrog Tag readers, headphones, and four storage cases. The Leapfrog Tag Readers will help my students become better readers. I am requesting headphones to go with the Tag Readers so that each of my students can focus on reading without the noise and distractions from their classmates. I am also requesting four storage cases to keep the LeapFrog Tag Readers and headphones in a safe place.

Reading is fundamental.

It is a very important part of everyday life. I want to offer my students as many opportunities as possible to develop strong reading skills early on in their lives. The LeapFrog Tag Readers will encourage independent reading for my students and make reading fun for them.
