Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fifth grade students are eager to learn but face many challenges. We are a Title 1 school meaning the majority of our students come from low income households and require supplemental funds to help meet their educational needs. 90% of our children receive free lunch.

Most of my students are language learners, many of whom are newcomers.

They are learning to adjust and are excited to learn. Unfortunately they are accustomed to "doing without" or using supplies from previous years and are so appreciative of new materials that I am sometimes able to provide for them.

My Project

Due to COVID there is less personal instruction in the classroom. My ELA students are adjusting to blended learning. They will have to complete the majority of their assignments and projects on a laptop. Now that students spend so much time working remotely I'd like to be able to print their work in color and display it around our classroom.

Students would be so proud to see their colorful projects displayed around the classroom.

Seeing their work displayed in vivid color would make them so excited. A colored printer provides more of an opportunity to be more creative with their online projects.
