My Students

Our school is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) Magnet school with a diverse population that reflects Los Angeles County. Half of my students ride the bus in from various parts of Los Angeles County. Most of our school receives free or reduced-price lunch.

My students are motivated and diligent students.

I not only have an ethnically diverse class, but I also have a class with varying academic abilities. I have students who have been identified with special needs as well as students who demonstrate strong academic capabilities. My students come with a keen interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our school's goal is to prepare every child to be college and career ready, especially in the areas of STEAM.

My Project

My first graders need help to organize their learning materials. Our classroom desks have small pockets making it difficult for storing all the instructional materials we need throughout the day. The chair pockets will help my students to organize and manage their materials.

Each student will use their own individual chair pocket to store various materials they will use for learning daily.

The chair pockets will also minimize the loss of learning time by limiting distribution of materials and students quickly finding the necessary learning materials to start learning right away.
