Help me give my students with creative seating and desk options to keep their bodies going which helps their academic endeavors soar as they develop skills to help them become independent academically and socially!
My students are 8 wonderfully unique autistic middle schoolers in a self-contained classroom. They need movement incorporated into their academic day in order to focus and grow in all ways. It takes different kinds of options to maximize their learning and help them grow academically, socially, and functionally in life.
Creative seating and desk options keep their bodies going which helps their academic endeavors soar.
Each student in my class requires specific items that will help my students by having their feet and bodies move as we do whole group lessons. Specifically designed instruction and different options are needed to help them focus with movement in a contained area. During indivuiidual goal work the student will be able to pedal and move while focusing on the material in front of them. In whole group lesson, the rocking chair and sensory tiles will engage and allow them to participate in a group setting without disturbing the rest of the class. The more they move, the more they focus and grow into academic, behavioral, and functional independence!
