Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low income and low resourced area in the South Bronx. Our school is made up of a majority of Black and Hispanic students. We have a large ENL population which causes language barriers between parents, students and teachers.My students come from large families and many time share dwellings with their extended families. However many live in temporary housing causing them to move frequently.

My students are energetic, motivated and determined to succeed regardless of their situation.

My Project

My students are from an a low income high poverty area where there are minimal parks and few places for the students to play and exercise. Our school is a barrier since it lacks an official gym space the students are restricted to recess outdoors whether permitting.

Your generous donation will give my students the opportunity to move and become fit.

My gym class is conducted in a classroom and activities are limited but possible By having these gym mats, balls and jump ropes at their disposal it will give them the opportunity to learn how to maximize their space and become more active and fit.
